The
dharmachakra is a symbol of Buddhism.
What this symbol represents to me:
- Wheel of Life
- The cycle of birth, death, and rebirth
- 8 spokes represent the Noble Eightfold Path
- The wheel also look like an ornate navigation wheel - a way to steer through
out life.
- Dukkha is the first Noble Truth. It means suffering. It also means a wheel
off center or out of alignment.
- The symbol at left also has an empty center.
Activities Younger Children
- Draw a dharmachakra
- Make a dharmachakra out of clay
- Cut a dharmachakra out of paper (like a snow flake - Pictured
Instructions)
- Holiday idea: Make dharmachakra ornaments for your Bodhi Day tree.
- Discuss cycles in life such as the seasons of the year.

- Create a dharmachakra with - Eightfold path for spokes or other words.
- Explain to others what the words you chose means to you.
