Buddha Day

One thing that we do is to celebrate Buddha day on the full moon of May. During the year, we fold origami cranes for each of our troubles and put them in a box. On Buddha day, we release our cranes (in our case in the canal behind our house when the tide takes them out to sea) thus sending away our troubles and also sending our peace cranes into the world. We have small gifts (jataka stories, wrist malas, etc.) and a festive dinner.
